As it was my fist stay in Scotland, and I didn’t know too much about this country, I decided to make a tour all around Scotland. I had 10 days, so enough time to visit several places without too much compromises. I decided to go by car and begin by the east side, go north and than head to the west side, without forgetting to key points, lochs and the isle of Skye.
Ah, and I had my dog with me.
Coming from the continent to the UK by car, I had two choices: a ferry or Eurostar. The advantage of Eurostar is clearly the time of the travel, 30 minutes vs. 1H30 by a ferry, but – except for a short stay (the price of Eurostar depends on the length of your stay) – a ferry will be about 2 times cheaper than Eurostar.
Yeah, it’s a thing to take into account. When you head to the north from the ferry or Eurostar, London and the Thames are on the way and the roads can be busy. Friday afternoon is definitively to be avoided.
Something like 620 km (or 380miles) on A1, I arrived to the beautiful town of Edinburgh.
To be continued…
